The radial flow settler is mainly used to remove particulates from the effluent water, and usually be installed in front of microstrainer.

The working principle of radial flow settler is as following: The effluent water enter into the settler through the inlet, and then come into the stilling well through the top end of the adjustable standpipe. When the effluent water move to the bottom end of the stilling well, the particulates keep moving downward to the solids outlet, well the water moves upward outside the stilling well and crosses the weir, then goes out of the radial settler through the outlet.

Main advantage of the radial flow settler:

1. Greatly reduces solids loading in the filtration system.

2. It’s a passive equipment and requires no power.

3. Only routine cleaning is needed, no extra maintenance or servicing is required.

4. Proper size is available according to different flow.
